Hello! My name is Lisa Mae Preece, and I'm constantly dreaming of travelling.

I created this channel in summer 2016 to capture my trip to Rome. Since then, I can't imagine going on holiday without vlogging the experience. Here you will find adventures with my fiancee Matt, my sister Alice, my family and friends. We've been all around the world, from Japan and Thailand to the USA and Europe, soaking up the culture and visiting many Disney theme parks along the way.

HA LONG BAY VIETNAM TRAVEL VLOG | One-night cruise | Epic sunrise, kayaking & squid fishing!

We're off from Hanoi, Vietnam to Ha Long Bay for a one-night cruise with Dora Cruises (booked on Booking.com - https://www.booking.com/Share-k9JbFE) around Lan Ha Bay. We got picked up from our Hanoi hotel on a luxury bus with reclining seats and we enjoyed the three hour journey out to the cruise terminal, with a rest stop along the way. It was really nice to see more of Vietnam on the drive as well.

When we got to the port, we checked in, paid our balance, and got onto the tender boat for a one hour (!!) journey over to the actual Dora Cruises ship, where we would be spending the new 24 hours in Ha Long Bay. It was billed as a luxury cruise but it felt a little bit tired around the edges, though it had everything we needed.

The first stop was lunch as we sailed past the dramatic limestone karsts. I couldn't believe we were actually in Ha Long Bay! Then we did some kayaking together and went in the hot tub on the top deck. After showering, it was time for dinner and drinks, which was served buffet-style in the main dining room. The offered squid fishing afterwards which was definitely an experience - particularly when someone caught a squid and the ink went all over me!

After trying to get to sleep while people were singing kareoke above us, we made it up for sunrise at 6am and it was SO worth it! We had the best sunrise I'd ever seen over Ha Long Bay. Magical! Then we had breakfast, and headed off on the tender boat to a smaller rowing boat for a little trip through some caves. After that, we had some time to chill on the balcony, which I also really enjoyed. We had a final lunch (this was still at about 10am but we had been up since 6am so it felt more acceptable) and headed back on the tender to the port!

Overall, it was a really fun experience but the vibe was a little weird at times - I think we just got unlucky with the group on our specific day. We still had a great time and made lots of memories!
